Frequently Asked Questions:
Q1. I was inducted in 1970 at [insert the name of your favorite college or university] which had a charter of BKX. I lost my key and would like to replace it?
- A1: Please contact the local chapter advisor at your favorite college or university to help us verify your membership. In the case that the advisor is no longer at the University, please contact the National Executive Secretary and she should be able to help you. Once your membership has been verified, you can pay your money through a local chapter or contact the executive secretary to help you with how to remit your payment. The current cost to replace the key is $55.00 (USD).
Q2. I was inducted in BKX at [insert the name of your favorite college or university] do they have an alumni chapter?
- A2: We do not have alumni chapters but you can rejoin your undergraduate chapter by paying your membership fees to the local advisor. Or contact the regional vice president for your current state and they should be able to help facilitate your membership. (See the National Officers Link to see the list of regional vice presidents).
Q3. I recently graduated and I would like to continue membership?
- A3: See the process explained in A2.
Q4. I am a current student majoring in Biology and I am interested in becoming a member of Beta Kappa Chi. I would like more information about the qualifications needed.
- A4. If your school has an active chapter of Beta Kappa Chi, please contact your local on campus advisor. Induction for undergraduates is by invitation from a Charter member via the campus advisor. If your school has an inactive chapter then contact your on campus office of student affairs or the chief academic officer (i.e., Provost and/or Vice President for Academic Affairs) along with the National Executive Secretary of BKX to help you prepare a petition to re-start the Charter. The national office can help you in getting your charter active again.
